Cat Ba Bay has proven to be one of my favorite places in Vietnam. From the first second we got there I fell in love with it. We all quickly dropped our stuff off to our beach bungalows and ran into the ocean. We proceeded to try to explore small caves in the rocks and play chicken fights in the ocean (where many of us lost earrings). We got time to relax, play beach volleyball/soccer, and of course drinks tons of smoothies.
The next day we got to kayak through caves and explore parts of the bay where there was no one in sight. That day our boat was also our home for the night. After hanging out, tanning, and playing games the group decided to start jumping off the boat, and after 30 minutes of shaking with nerves on the side of the boat... I eventually jumped too! (since I'm trying to get rid of my fear of heights).
The next day I proceeded to continue to try to conquer my fear of heights by going on the scariest climb I've ever done and reaching the top with the help of 10 people constantly reminding me I was not going to fall. (See said scary climb pictures below).
Overall my time at Cat Ba was amazing and is a place I hope to return to in the future!
